Types of Banding

Polyester

Polyester (Plastic)

Higher break strength with flexibility to shifting or expansion/retraction of product. Recovers shape better than polypropylene when stretched.

Polypropylene

Polypropylene (Plastic)

Used mostly with automatic tensioners. Lower break strength. Stretches easily but will not recover shape as well as polyester.

Steel

Steel

Used primarily in heavy-duty applications. High break strength but little flexibility
